On March 1st the Pamplona Community launched a new mobile and web app for recharging public transport cards in Pamplona. This app is an evolution of the "RecargaTUC" app, which previously allowed immediate NFC recharges, also created by Zitycard for the Pamplona Community . Now, it enables all citizens to easily and quickly recharge their cards from any mobile device or web platform, from the comfort of their home or anywhere with internet access. The app features a modern and intuitive design, available natively on iOS, Android, and web, in both Spanish and Basque. It allows immediate recharge application via NFC, or within less than an hour for other channels and devices when boarding the bus.
With the new app, users can recharge their cards and purchase temporary passes from any device, at any time, and without cash. The recharges and purchases are applied directly to the device via NFC, as done previously, or to all MCP bus terminals in under 1 hour.
In the first two weeks, the user volume has grown by over 50%, with nearly 30,000 active users in the online recharge system. User satisfaction has significantly increased, reaching more than 4.6 stars out of 5 on the Play Store. At Zitycard, we are very pleased with the great effort made by the app team. We hope to continue applying technology to streamline recharge processes in other cities.
