The City Hall of Vigo has awarded the migration of all Pass Vigo services to the smartcitycard® platform from Zitycard , along with the integration of new services into PassVigo. In the first phase, all transportation-related functionalities will be migrated to the platform, also integrating all associated logic and operations. This first block of the project will undergo analysis in collaboration with Vitrasa (Grupo Avanza by Mobility ADO) to validate a transition plan for both the request portal and the management processes. This transition will also centralize all information into a single municipal database.

Back in 2018, Zitycard was awarded the supply of card readers for PassVigo, which we installed in all sports centers. As a result, PassVigo became a multi-purpose card, initially integrating transportation and soon after, waste collection services. These services operated independently, and the aim of this evolution is to integrate all services into the citizen card platform developed by Zitycard.

The smartcitycard® solution continues its expansion, being implemented in more cities. The platform supplied to Empark/Dornier in 2020 for their XER (Regulated Parking Service) in Vigo continues its evolution, now integrating all information, processes, and services for citizens, including transportation, XER, waste collection, sports, and the zoo. Additionally, municipal internal services like the padrón (municipal register) and XEM (municipal file management service) will be integrated. Payment systems for services via NFC technology devices will also be offered, along with integration with the Smart City platform called VCI+2.0, implemented by Telefónica, which manages, analyzes, and displays aggregated information in sectorized dashboards. This allows municipal entities to extract conclusions related to the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided to the public.

The initiative is part of the funding proposals from the European Union within the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).

As part of this project, Vigo City Hall will be able to fully manage its PassVigo citizen card with many more services than currently offered, all centralized and integrated as a vertical within the VCI+2.0 Platform for greater efficiency and improvement of the city.

We will soon begin working to offer the City Hall of Vigo our smart solutions and efficient technology to provide the best service to its citizens.
