In 2007, a dream was born that today provides direct employment to over 20 people. Today, we continue to create new solutions thanks to innovation. Digital identity products, blockchain, digitization, access control, payment methods, loyalty programs in closed environments, and many other areas where we work, using technology as a tool to apply marketing and digitize processes.
Zitycard is a family of the best professionals, where everyone shares their knowledge, helps, and collaborates to offer our products and services with the highest quality standards, certified with ISO90001, security with ENS , and environmental certification. The empathy and connection we've built over the years create a unique, close, and fun work environment. Communication is open and fluid, both in the office and during the barbecues and dinners we regularly share.
We started with landmark projects in Zaragoza, which is why we have our “z” in Zitycard, such as the Fluvi card and the citizen card, which is a reference in Spain. The support of organizations like Ibercaja helped launch a micropayment solution that today manages over half a million cards, just in Zaragoza. We are a benchmark for this type of project, with implementations in major Spanish cities such as Vigo, A Coruña, Oviedo, Torrelavega, Santander, Castellón, Alcalá de Henares, Murcia, Mérida, Villanueva de la Serena, and of course, the city where we were born, Zaragoza, in collaboration with Hiberus. Millions of cards have passed through our hands, and gradually, these are becoming apps with our identity technology and secure payments via dynamic QR codes.
With Samsung we launched the world’s first NFC POS with the NFCity® Taxi project adapted from Zaragoza. This project has facilitated and subsidized hundreds of thousands of trips for people with reduced mobility, in collaboration with the Zaragoza Taxi Coperative and Zaragoza City Council.
We created innovative solutions for transport card recharging, with success stories like Pamplona, where we collaborated in digitizing these needs. We applied immediacy by recharging directly from the user’s NFC phone or from home through online recharges via website or any Android or iPhone device.
Another solution we've created is Eventpass® a ticketing and event registration system that has managed peaks of over 5,000 registrations in 8 minutes, with crowd control, a sales portal, back-office management, and sales and validation terminals.
We had the opportunity to participate in implementing contactless technology at Aramón ski stations (Aragon) and recently digitized Valdezcaray (La Rioja) with a new sales and access control system, in collaboration with Telefónica.
We are also involved in blockchain projects applied to sovereign digital identity -id4citizen®-, with the reference project PIDA in Avilés, and other applications such as traceability and payments. We are founding partners of the blockchainFUE network, which is open and permissioned in a cooperative model with partners like ISTEC (ACCV), which also provides data custody with a termination plan. We are the only blockchain network with this data management guarantee.
Throughout the company's history, we’ve collaborated with others who have helped us keep learning and growing. We are partners with companies like NXP (the leading manufacturer of contactless cards), Odoo (comprehensive business management software), and Telefónica. We are proud that such an important company as Telefónica trusts Zitycard to jointly implement projects.
Technology advances faster every day, and staying at the forefront 15 years later is an achievement to celebrate. Throughout our history, we have been mentioned in books like Smart Cities by Anthony M. Townsend, and we’ve received top-level national and international awards such as the Green Digital Charter from Eurocities, the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) award, the CIT (International Card Congress) award, the Socinfo Smart Cities award, and more.
