Castelló has awarded Telefónica Soluciones de Informática y Comunicaciones de España the development and implementation of the 'citizen card.' The plan is to include services such as access to urban transportation or the use of Bicicás.
The smartictycard® from Zitycard continues its expansion, now being implemented in more Spanish cities. In this case, it will be launched in one of the main cities in the Valencia Community, integrating the Móbilis card to function as the citizen card for the services included in the project. With the A>punT certification for the Móbilis card, obtained by Zitycard in 2019 and issued by the Autoritat de Transport Metropolitá de Valencia, Zitycard
The initiative is part of the funding proposals from the European Union within the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy (Edusi) and was approved for co-financing with European funds at 50%.
The main benefits for the citizens of Castelló will be the unification of all services into one support and access to information and operations with the latest technologies, for using transportation, libraries, and Bicicás in the first phase. Later on, more services will be integrated into the project thanks to the available integration solutions.
The project will involve supplying 20,000 Mifare Plus Ev1 4k cards with the specifications of Móbilis. These cards will include a common e-wallet that will allow them to operate across all services.
Municipal technicians have highlighted that "the protocol and card request process is simple, clear, and easy to use," and can be registered online.
